Like What You Eat
If you are trying to fit breakfast foods in your diet that you don’t enjoy eating, you won’t stick with it. Use some of these helpful tips to make sure you have nutritious breakfast meals you can look forward to every morning.
If your breakfast choices aren’t as nutritious as they should be, try these minor adjustments to fulfill the nutrition value that gives breakfast an
advantage for your day.
If you have a sweet tooth in the morning…
Try a piece of nutty whole-grain bread spread with a tablespoon of almond butter (which is slightly sweeter than peanut butter and fruit preserves.
This gives a nutritional benefit instead of eating foods that offer sweetness but little nutrition like doughnuts or muffins.
If you enjoy egg dishes, but don’t have enough time to prepare them…
Microwave an egg while toasting two slices of whole wheat or rye bread. Add a slice of low-fat cheese for a breakfast sandwich that can be ready in just a few minutes.
Don’t overlook your leftovers…
Pizza the night before? It contains antioxidant-filled tomato sauce, calcium-rich cheese and lots of veggies. Go ahead and eat it. It’s a good breakfast that includes some major food groups and it’s better than no breakfast at all.
